Our perfect candidate will thrive in a fun and casual environment, pay it forward daily, and add value to the company by overseeing all Company bills and invoices rendered for payment, maintaining proper records of those obligations incurred by the Company and its employees across all departments and store locations.

NOTE : We have a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days working from home.

WHAT THIS JOB DOES:

  • Develop, implement and maintain AP systems, procedures and policies to ensure strict adherence to accounting controls and guidelines.

  • Responsible for management of vendor master data, including adherence to approval process for all changes and strict adherence to payment terms.

  • Oversees approval, matching, and check disbursement processes for all payable transactions, including Purchase Orders (PO's) and 3-way match process.

  • Selects, hires, trains and develops the AP associates in order to enhance their performance and work product.

  • Manages review of vendor statements, including weekly reviews for all Packers and Distribution Centers, ensuring proper recording for all outstanding invoices and adherence to payment terms.

  • Oversees management of 3rd party automated workflow approval system for vendor invoices (Symbeo).

  • Oversees review and posting of PCard transactions

  • Manages annual 1099 process, including generation and submission of 1099's to vendors and to the IRS.

  • Manages annual escheatment process, including communication to vendors and municipalities.

  • Manages monthly closing of AP financial records and posting of month end information ensuring completeness and accuracy of resulting financial statements, including reconciliation of AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.

  • Identify, recommend and lead opportunities for efficiencies/process enhancements/implementations.

  • Analyze AP initiatives for adherence to industry standards and best practices, and identifies opportunities for growth, improvement, and efficiencies.

YOUR TRACK RECORD

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience), in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Ten+ years' progressive AP experience, with at least 2 years' experience supervising a team.

Experience working with GAAP and ERP accounting software; D365 highly desirable. ERP implementation experience highly desirable. Must have IRS 1099 compliance and filing expertise.

Experience working with a T&E system. Concur experience highly desirable. Experience working with an AP Automated Workflow Approval system. Symbeo experience highly desirable.

Knowledge and experience with AP check escheatment requirements and filing.

Intermediate systems proficiency including MS Excel and MS Word, MS Access and SQL reporting would be helpful. High level of comfort leveraging data/systematic processes to generate efficiencies.

Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accounting team, clients, and all levels of management. Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles, processes, and procedures.

This role will supervise a team of 3 to 4 Accounts Payable associates.
