We're looking for a Construction Manager to join the team in our Alpharetta office. Our perfect candidate will thrive in a fun and casual environment, pay it forward daily, and add value to the company by overseeing the process of franchise construction projects, remodels, sign approvals and ongoing construction methods. This role will also manage Corporate vendors and assist franchisees with store construction to ensure timely completion of work according to design specifications and brand standards.
WHAT THIS ROLE DOES
Assists franchisees with store construction projects. Interface and advise franchisee during the construction process and provide necessary support for successful remodels and new store openings.
Acts as liaison between the franchisee and corporate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors and equipment distributors. Investigates variances and ensures adherence to plan specifications. Mediates disputes and ensures cost and time effective resolution.
Visits construction sites and provides site inspection reports to ensure compliance with all plan specifications and brand standards.
Administers final corporate inspection with general contractor and franchisee.
Reviews all franchise signage to insure adherence to brand standards and assist in franchisee store installations with Corporate sign vendors.
Able to work with franchisees to create remodel schematics. Provides required scope of work and helps facilitate upcoming franchise remodels.
Identifies and introduces new ideas and solutions to create efficiency and identifies potential value savings.
Provides ongoing cost analysis and cost management of construction projects.
Works cross-functionally with the Company and Franchise Group, marketing and Senior Team to ensure alignment with company goals.
Assist in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Cross functional management of projects with facilities manager including equipment sourcing and production equipment management.
Develops national and regional accounts for various services and equipment related to new construction, remodels and project roll-out. Goal is to effectively lower cost and improve efficiency of schedule.
Analyzes and resolves work problems related to Corporate vendors and construction projects.
Assists franchisees with invoicing questions pertaining to the new store or remodel projects. Reviews and approves any Corporate invoices pertaining to the construction department.
YOUR TRACK RECORD
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years commercial construction management experience within a franchised business model (restaurant, etc.) Great communication and collaboration skills are a must! In addition, we're looking for comprehensive knowledge of retail outlet operating procedures and functional requirements, extensive knowledge of construction and maintenance practices along with applicable local, state and federal codes, experience in skilled construction, maintenance and repair tasks and demonstrated ability to successfully plan and manage short and long-term construction projects.
Proficiency in the MS Office software is necessary and experience with AutoCAD software preferred but not required.
WHAT ELSE? The role requires travel - estimated to be about 50% across multiple states.
