The Talent Acquisition Recruiter works collaboratively with Operations leadership to source strong General Managers and Assistant General Managers for our California stores. Additionally, this role combines strategic and tactical responsibilities to support store leaders and equip them with the tools, knowledge and direction to attract the highest caliber talent for our associate roles. In successfully partnering with operations leaders, the Talent Acquisition Recruiter must understand business and staffing requirements, provide market data to assist store leaders in making decisions on recruiting activities, help leaders develop local sourcing strategies, and pilot new recruiting ideas.

NOTE: This role can be based in anywhere within California - if in the Los Angeles area, there will be office space for you to utilize (three days in the office and two days working from home).


  • Act as a sourcing and selection process expert for hiring store management by facilitating the hiring process from pre-screen to hire.

  • Understand the staffing requirements (year round and seasonal) for the organization and -- working collaboratively with Multi Unit Leaders - translate that into actionable plans. Embed continuous improvement mindset in all activities and deliver improvements to processes and programs.

  • Leverage expertise in talent attraction skills to develop recommendations to find and attract candidates for company stores. Provide expertise and insight to guide and advise store leaders in candidate attraction.

  • Assist Multi-Unit Leaders in evaluation and development of solutions to address their market specific sourcing needs.

  • Drive results through collaboration and impact/influence - lead change in the organization.

  • Proactively communicate with key stakeholders and leadership. Identify gaps in recruiting outreach and build tools/training to address

  • Embed the employment brand into all projects/programs/tools/collateral.

  • Continuously looks for ways to improve and streamline processes while maintaining a dedicated focus on providing a great candidate experience.

  • Establish effective working relationship with HR team and internal stakeholders

  • Create job postings and source candidates for open positions, always being mindful of department budget. Screen resumes and reach out to candidates to assess their interest and qualilfications

  • Assist with scheduling interviews for hiring managers. Extend job offers and complete pre-employment background and reference checks

  • Ensure the integrity of the staffing process; ensure hiring managers are trained on the staffing process and understand legal compliance pertaining to the process

  • Build and maintain relationships with area organizations, community groups and universities to build a strong and diverse pool of applicants


Bachelors in Human Resources or a related discipline, along with at least one year recruitment experience within a corporate environment. Multi-lingual skills: Englis and Spanish will be necessary. Prior Talent Acquisition experience in the hospitality, restaurant or retail industry is strongly preferred.

Must have a good understanding of the various laws that impact the sourcing, interviewing and hiring processes at both the state and federal level.

In-depth knowledge of talent acquisition and previous experience in driving employer brand awareness throughout all talent acquisition activities.

Must be able to manage competing demands while being extremely adaptable and flexible.

Knowledge and experience with applicant tracking systems, preferably ADP.

Proven experience within a high volume recruiting environment while providing a high degree of candidate and hiring manager support.

Excellent presentation and oral and written communication skills with proven ability to influence. Expertise with Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, PowerPoint

Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.

Some travel will be required to support stores' recruiting efforts - estimated to be 30%
